ECAT 2014 Overview and Statistics

Keeping to its tradition, UET has just announced entry test result (7:00pm 29-august-2014) two days before the actual announcement date. Until today, we were only making estimates about highest and average entry test marks. It was believed that merit will rise. But statistics show that average and highest marks are lower as compared to previous year. So the question comes that is merit still going to increase? yes and no. Average marks in board exams of FSc are increasing every year. After ECAT, this is the second most important factor determining merit of UET Lahore.

As the average of ECAT is low this year, we can hope for merit of 2014 to decrease. But it can only be 1% at most, and only for some engineering fields.

    • Electrical ya mechanical engineering mein nahi a sakta. Software, telecom aur computer mein ho skta hai.

  8. Assala mualikum sir mainai Uet taxila mai combine entry test diya hai meray fsc mai aggregate 70.6 bna hai or meray test main 146 marks hain to yeh btain mera ksi field mai chance hai and also self finance scheme hai to wo bi btadain fee waghaira thanku

    • Yes. your chance of admission is in CS and IT new campus.

    • There is only a slight chance if your admission in UET gujranwala campus in CS. for PU, your aggregate is low.

    • W alaikum assalam. UET ka test hi sb se late hota hai. ab mazeed universities k test nahi honge. Future mein apko bohat kuch nazar ayega agar aap khud apni umeed banenge to. ye depend krta hai k aap kiya krna chahte hein.

  15. a.o.a sir 2013 avg of ecat was 107 and 2012 was 108,and 2014 is 114,what about merit this year sir?

    • Average was 118 in 2013, this year its is 107. we can hope for merit of some disciplines to decrease a bit.

  16. uet taxila kay liye uet lahore wala overseas form VIII chal sakta hai ya uet taxila ka alag say hota hai form VIII

    • UET taxila ka bhi VIII hi hai lekin uet taxila k lye specific hai(UET lahore wala accepted nahi hoga). UET taxila ki site se download kiya ja sakta hai.

    • W alaikum assalam. open merit will be high. Your chance of admission is very well in overseas category (in both universities).

        • Fees of different semesters vary. here is the estimate:
          UET Lahore: 53000-65000 Rs
          PU Lahore: 45000-56000 Rs

    • Merit of mechanical engg for DAE holders is very high (~71%)

    • You cannot apply in A category. You may apply in E category and there 6 seats in all disciplines for gilgit baltistan cadidates.

    • Merit will be more than 70%. so your chances are negligible.

    • We can hope. last year, merit of ksk was low because uet closed down admission in All pakistan (AP) category in KSK campus. So we cannot say anything certain.

    • UET LAhore mein nahi ho payega. Private university like NFC faisalabad mein ho jaega.
